Miss Ohio USA Madison Gesiotto hosts a star studded fundraiser designed to raise support and money for the Wounded Warrior Project!

The Wounded Warrior Project is an amazing organization originally created by a few veterans and their friends who wanted to help the wounded men and women of the United States Armed Forces returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.  The original idea was to provide these heroes with comfort items to help them recover from their wounds. What started out is a small gesture of kindness to help those in need has now exploded into a well known organization helping thousands of our soldiers recover and cope with both the physical and mental wounds of war. It is also designed to help those men and women adjust as they transition back into civilian life.

The Wounded Warrior Program is a 501c3 non-profit organization. What this means is this program is not funded by any government agency. With that being said, all the funds used to help these American heroes have to come from generous donations and fundraising events. Hundreds of events are held all across the country each year in an effort to raise money for this amazing group. There are golf and other sporting events, motorcycle and car events, walks, runs, concerts, and more helping in the fundraising cause. One of the more well known events is the Tough Mudder challenge. This event alone has raised well over $6 million in support of the project and it continues to grow in popularity year after year.

On November 9, 2013 Madison Gesiotto was crowned the winner of the 2014 Miss Ohio USA Pageant. On April 6, 2014 Madison hosted a truly memorable event to raise awareness for the Wounded Warrior Project. The event was attended by numerous politicians, local business owners, collegiate and soon to be professional athletes, and most importantly by some of our wounded warriors . The event was held at the beautiful Brookside Country Club in Canton, OH. If you would like more information about this beautiful venue please click here. Not only did the event raise awareness about the project but also raised a substantial amount of money for the cause. Funds were raised by donations, silent auctions, ticket sales, and raffles. The unbelievable amount of giving displayed by the attendants of the event was inspiring. In fact the winner of the reverse raffle immediately handed back their winnings as an additional donation to the organization. The amazing amount of selflessness displayed by these guests was example we all need to follow.

Buckeye State Entertainment was honored to be asked by Madison to be a part of this unbelievable event. DJ Easy B provided music for the event as well as supplying sound for some of the announcements and for the singing of the national anthem by the amazingly talented sister duo of Madison and Juliana Heichel.
