As the old saying goes…opposites attract! Just ask Cortney (Fargo) and Michael Rutledge!!!
Growing up in Ohio my parents taught me a lot of life lessons. One of these many lessons they taught me is as a Cleveland Browns fan, you never want to date a Pittsburgh Steelers fan! Lol. Until recently, I thought my parents were right on every lesson they taught me, that is until I met Cortney and Mike.
Roughly a year ago I was fortunate to meet Michael Rutledge. This is a man that would give you the shirt off of his back. There are few people that I know that have a bigger heart than him and his family and friends always come first. When I first met Mike he told me about this amazing woman he had in his life and you could tell when he talked about her, this truly was the piece that completed his life puzzle. I was honored when he asked me if my company would be able to entertain at their wedding reception and help them celebrate the biggest night of their life! As I grew to learn more about Mike, I realized he and I had a lot in common! One of which is our love for Cleveland sports, especially the Cleveland Browns. Mike, takes his passion to an even higher level than me and is privileged to be the current President of the Streetsboro Chapter of the Cleveland Browns Backers. His passion for his favorite team is unmatched by anyone I know and I truly think he bleeds Orange and Brown. After a conversation with him about the Browns you will be convinced that there is no way he could be more passionate about anything else in life, that is until he begins to talk about Cortney!
Just a few minutes after talking to Mike about Cortney you will realize that these two have a love for each other, normally only found in movie plots. Their desire to please each other, to help each other when they are in need, and the friendship they have is what we all are looking for in life! This amazing couple enjoys so many of the same things they seem like a perfect fit until you ask Cortney who her favorite football team is. That’s right it is the Pittsburgh Steelers!!! What??? How can this be you say? That is exactly the question I was asking myself when he told me this horrible news. I thought back to the lesson my parents taught me about dating a Steelers fan and I thought to myself Mike what in the world are you doing?
A few weeks after I heard the horrible news, I finally met Cortney in person. Now I get it!!! Once you talk to this amazing women you will understand how even the most die hard of Browns fans can look past her black and gold apparel and see that huge heart of hers. Cortney is fun loving, caring, sweet, and sincere. The love she has for Mike radiates from her like the glare of a mid summer sun. Her personality is the perfect compliment to Mike’s. They truly are a match made in heaven.
With over 15 years in this business and thousands of weddings under my belt, I don’t know that I have ever met a couple more perfect for each other. On May 3, 2014 Cortney and Mike took their vows promising to always be there for one another. After a beautiful ceremony, the bride and groom moved the festivities to Guys Party Center in Akron, OH where the celebrated with all of their closest family and friends. It was one of the once in a lifetime parties that no one in attendance will soon forget. Unfortunately, I was unable to be in attendance do to a prior commitment but Buckeye State Entertainment was well represented as our very own DJ Diabeatz and Angela handled the event. There have been nothing but rave reviews from this wonderful event and I am so happy that we as a company were able to be a part of it. On behalf of the entire staff at Buckeye State Entertainment I want to wish the bride and groom all the best in their new journey together!
