WhiteHot 5K Held At Kent State University in Honor of 1st Lt. Ashley White-Stumpf!
Ashley White-Stumpf was born on September 3, 1987. Ashley attended Marlington High School where she graduated in 2005. She later attended Kent State University where she graduated in 2009. After graduating from KSU, Ashley was commissioned in the US Army as a Medical Service Corps Officer. Ashley was assigned to the 230th Brigade Support Battalion, NC National Guard. On October 22, 2011 while supporting an assault force in Kandahar, Afghanistan, a triggered improvised explosive device took Ashley’s life. Posthumously, Ashley was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, and a few other medals for making the ultimate sacrifice for this great country of ours. She is survived by her parents Robert and Deborah White, twin sister Brittany, brother Josh, and husband Cpt. Jason Stumpf.
On April 26, 2014 Buckeye State Entertainment was honored to take part in the 3rd Annual WhiteHot 5K held at Kent State University. The WhiteHot 5K is a race across the KSU campus that helps to raise funds for the Ashley White Stumpf Scholarship which benefits ROTC Cadets from Kent State University. Many outstanding organizations came together to help with this years event including the Kent State University Golden Eagle Battalion of the Army ROTC, Operation: Airdrop “Young Hearts Reaching Out”, and the USO of Northern Ohio to name a few. Runners were treated to their favorite music being played as they neared the finish line by Buckeye State Entertainment’s own DJ Easy B.
Later this year, there will be an Ashley White-Stumpf Memorial Day held at Maize Valley Winery and Farm Market in Hartville, OH with races, bike rides, poker runs, and more with funds being raised to help support the Ashley White-Stumpf Memorial Scholarship Fund.
